For authors

Publish with Whitepaper Press

We publish executive papers, research, blueprints, and frameworks for leaders navigating consequential change. If you have an argument worth committing to paper, we want to read it.

Author-owned, CC-licensed by default, indexed for discovery, structured for citation by research tools - without the overhead of running your own site.

What we publish

Strategic papers

Long-form arguments for executives. Operating models, capital allocation theses, market-structure analysis. Audience-led, not vendor-led.

Business & Technology blueprints

Reference architectures and design specifications for leaders. Engineering-grade rigor, executive-readable summaries.

Implementable frameworks

Open frameworks with companion artifacts - schemas, policies, conformance checks. Citable, forkable, deployable.

Why publish here

Distribution to executives

Our audience is leaders at regulated enterprises, growth-stage operators, and the architects who advise them. Your work reaches the people who can act on it.

SEO & AI citation

Every paper gets full Schema.org structured data, an llms.txt entry, an RSS announcement, and per-paper OG cards. Designed to be cited by search engines and LLMs - not just read once.

Author-owned IP

You retain copyright. CC BY 4.0 is our default license, but we will work with author preferences. We host, we promote, we attribute. You own the work.

Editorial partnership

Substantive editorial review, not a rubber-stamp. We invest in helping arguments land. Production design, accessibility, and a consistent reading experience come built in.

What we look for

We are selective. The bar is the same one we apply to our own papers.

  • Original argument: An idea worth committing to long form. Not a rehash of LinkedIn threads. Not a survey of what others have said. A position you are willing to defend.
  • Specific audience: Written for an identifiable reader - a CFO, a platform engineering lead, a board chair - with enough specificity that they recognize themselves in the first paragraph.
  • Citation-grade rigor: Sources cited. Numbers attributed. Frameworks defined. The reader should be able to quote you and stand behind the quote.
  • Executive-readable: Dense ideas in clear prose. Specialist work without specialist jargon. Long enough to be substantive, short enough to be finished.

What we do not publish

Saying no to these is part of why a yes from us matters.

  • Marketing collateral: Vendor-led pieces designed to drive product sales. If the paper makes more sense with a logo at the bottom of every page, it belongs on your own site.
  • Generic AI-written content: We are happy to publish work where AI was part of the production process. We are not interested in lightly-edited model output. Authorial voice and judgment have to be present.
  • Vendor-locked frameworks: Open by default. If your “framework” can only be implemented on one vendor's platform, it is a product spec, not a framework.
  • Reactive thought leadership: “What yesterday's news means for X” is what your blog is for. Whitepaper Press is for the things you want to be true in three years.
